Is Supercrew Tracking Me After Work?
Let’s start with the question most crew members want answered:
Is Supercrew tracking me after work?
No. Supercrew does not record your location outside your assigned working schedule. It also does not sell your personal information.
Supercrew is a time-tracking app. Depending on the clock-in method your employer chooses, it may use location information during working hours to record when you arrive at a job, when you leave, or how you travel between job sites. It is not meant to follow you during your personal time.
We understand why you might still have questions. Your phone is personal, and you deserve a clear explanation of what an app is doing before you give it location permission.
Here is how Supercrew handles location and privacy, without the technical jargon.
Supercrew is not designed to follow you 24/7
Supercrew uses your employer’s work schedule to determine when automatic time tracking can operate.
If your scheduled day runs from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Supercrew’s automatic location features are designed to operate during that work period—not during your evening, weekend, or other personal time.
Your employer should make sure your schedule is entered correctly. If you regularly start early, work late, or have a different schedule from the rest of the company, ask your manager to confirm the hours assigned to your profile.
One detail is worth understanding: if you remain clocked in after your scheduled shift ends, your work time may continue until you leave or clock out. That prevents someone working overtime from losing those hours. Once you have clocked out and your scheduled work period is over, automatic tracking does not continue following you to personal locations.
The official worker guidance also states that location is not recorded outside the working schedule and that motion permission does not track steps or workouts. (Worker login and permissions guide)
What Supercrew records depends on your clock-in method
Not every crew member uses Supercrew in the same way. The location information involved depends on the clock-in method selected for you.
Manual
You tap to clock in and out. No location information is recorded with your punch.
This is the simplest option for someone who does not need location verification. It still creates a digital record of when you started and finished, but it does not attach your location.
Manual with GPS
You tap to clock in and out, and Supercrew checks your location at those moments.
This lets the timesheet show whether the punch happened at or away from the job site. It does not create a continuous route of everywhere you travelled during the day.
Automatic Clock In
Automatic Clock In recognizes when you enter or leave a project’s work zone and clocks you in or out automatically. This helps people who are likely to forget a manual punch.
Location is used for those job-site arrival and departure events. According to the product’s current time-tracking explanation, Automatic Clock In captures location at clock-in and clock-out and does not store location while the worker is away from a job site. (How location tracking works)
Route history, travel time, and automatic project creation
These are separate features, not clock-in methods. Your employer can turn each one on independently. Route history records your route between projects, travel time records time spent moving between jobs, and automatic project creation creates a job site when you stop somewhere new. Like the clock-in methods, they operate only during your assigned working schedule.
The important point is that location access is not all-or-nothing. Your employer can select a method that fits the work being done, and different employees can use different methods.
Why does my phone say “Always Allow”?
The words “Always Allow” can sound alarming. They can make it seem as though the app wants permission to watch you every hour of every day.
That is not what the setting means.
Phones use this permission to let an app work in the background. Without it, an automatic time clock may stop working when your screen is off or the app is closed. You would need to keep Supercrew open all day, which would not be practical on a job site.
The permission allows Supercrew to wake up and perform its time-tracking job. Supercrew’s work schedule and clock-in settings determine when location information is actually recorded.
In other words:
- Phone permission: Lets the feature work in the background.
- Your work schedule: Controls when automatic tracking operates.
- Your clock-in method: Controls what kind of location information is needed.
Giving location permission does not give Supercrew permission to read your text messages, listen to phone calls, or browse everything stored on your phone. Location permission is not blanket access to your entire device.
Does Supercrew sell my personal information?
No. Supercrew does not sell your personal information.
Information collected through the app is used to provide the service: recording hours, connecting time to projects, preparing timesheets, troubleshooting problems, protecting the system, and improving how the app works.
Like most software providers, Supercrew may rely on trusted service providers to host data, operate parts of the service, provide support, or maintain security. That is different from selling your personal information.
Supercrew may also use information in a combined, de-identified form to understand general product performance. “De-identified” means the information is grouped or stripped of details that identify a particular worker.
The website may use cookies and analytics tools to understand how visitors use it or to support marketing. Those website tools are separate from your employer’s work records and job-site location history. Website visitors can manage their cookie choices.
The full privacy policy explains how account, device, and location information may be collected, used, shared with service providers, retained, and protected. (Read the Privacy Policy)
What can my employer see?
What your employer sees also depends on the clock-in method and the permissions your company has given to its managers.
In general, authorized people may be able to see information connected to work, such as:
- When you clocked in and out
- Which project the time was assigned to
- Whether a GPS punch happened on or off the job site
- Your route between projects, when route tracking is enabled
- Your live work location during scheduled hours when that feature is active
- Notes, photos, or other work information added to a project
Supercrew is not intended to give your employer access to unrelated personal activity on your phone.
Owners should also be honest about which features they have enabled. Before the app is rolled out, every crew member should know which method they will use, whether routes or live locations will be visible, who can see that information, and what to do if something looks wrong.
What if I don’t want my home to appear?
Supercrew includes Privacy Zones for personal places such as your home.
When you are inside one of your Privacy Zones, automatic clock-ins, project creation, route tracking, and live location pause. Automatic tracking resumes when you leave the zone and your working schedule allows it.
Your Privacy Zones belong to you:
- You create and manage them yourself.
- Your manager cannot create one for you.
- Your employer cannot see the zone’s name, address, or location.
- Other crew members cannot see it.
- Manual clock-in remains available if you need it.
That means you can protect your personal location without sharing that location with your boss. The app simply stops automatic tracking inside the zone. (How Privacy Zones work)
What if the app gets my hours wrong?
GPS is helpful, but it is not magic.
Poor reception, incorrect project pins, job-site geofences that are too small, overlapping projects, battery-saving settings, missing permissions, and temporary network problems can all affect automatic tracking.
A Supercrew record should not be treated as unquestionable simply because it came from an app. Your employer is responsible for reviewing timesheets and correcting mistakes before using them for payroll. The current terms specifically warn that automatic records may occasionally be incomplete or inaccurate and should be verified. (Supercrew app terms)
If something is wrong:
- 1.Tell your supervisor or manager as soon as possible.
- 2.Explain where you were and what hours you worked.
- 3.Ask them to review the project location, work schedule, and phone permissions.
- 4.Make sure the corrected entry appears on your timesheet.
You should not lose properly worked hours because of a technical problem.
We encourage companies to make the first part of a Supercrew rollout a learning period. Crew members should be encouraged to report mistakes so that project locations and settings can be fixed.
Does Supercrew use my camera, photos, or contacts?
Supercrew includes optional features that allow workers to add job photos, notes, or other project information. If you choose to upload something, that content becomes part of your company’s work records.
That does not mean the app automatically receives everything on your phone. Your phone controls access through separate permissions. You should review those permission requests and ask questions if you do not understand why one is needed.
Only upload information that is related to work. Do not upload personal documents, photos, or messages unless your employer specifically requires them for a legitimate workplace purpose and has explained how they will be handled.
Can I ask what information Supercrew has about me?
Yes. You can ask questions about your information and request that incorrect personal information be updated. You can also contact support to ask about access or deletion.
Some previous work records may remain in the company account after an employee is deactivated because those records are part of the employer’s historical timesheets. Retention or deletion can also be affected by legal, payroll, or contractual requirements.
For questions about your personal information, contact Supercrew support or speak with your employer. Privacy concerns should receive a direct answer—not “just trust the app.”
A fair rollout starts with an honest conversation
Supercrew should make timekeeping easier for the crew as well as the office.
Accurate records can protect employees by showing the hours they actually worked. Automatic clock-ins can eliminate forgotten punches. Clear project records can reduce arguments about where time should be charged. Digital timesheets can also save workers from reconstructing an entire week from memory.
Those benefits do not remove your right to ask questions.
Before you start using Supercrew, you should know:
- Which clock-in method has been assigned to you
- Whether GPS is captured only at punches or throughout scheduled work
- Whether route history or live location is enabled
- What your assigned work schedule is
- Who can see your work records
- How to create a Privacy Zone
- How to report and correct an inaccurate entry
- Who to contact with privacy concerns
Supercrew is built to record work—not your private life. It does not sell your personal information, and it does not record your location outside your assigned working schedule.
You should not have to choose between getting paid accurately and keeping your personal life private. A properly configured time-tracking system should help you do both.
